恐怖！！新型ツツガムシ病！

フトゲツツガムシ　秋田県大館市でツツガムシ病の患者さんが出た～！５～６月がピークである。毎年１０～40人前後発生しているが、昨年は少なかった。ツツガムシ病は病源性ツツガムシ（１～３％）に刺され、１週間以上の潜伏期を経て発症する風土病である。最近では古典的ツツガムシである赤毛ツツガムシが消滅し、変わって太毛ツツガムシが台頭してきているらしい。症状は高熱（３９℃以上）、発疹、肝障害であり、独特の刺し傷を発見すると診断率が高いが、頭部や臀部および腋下など柔らかい部位に生じ易い。診断が付かず、風邪としてよく使用される抗生剤を投与しても無効である。早期診断にてテトラサイクリンやクロラムフェニコールが特効薬となる。ツツガムシ発生地域の野山や畑および河川敷で素肌を出さないよう注意したい。帰宅後は必ず湯船に浸かるようにしたい。山歩きの好きな方は特に注意してください！

勉強になりました。

眼科医である私がツツガムシ病の患者さんを診察することは無いとおもいますが、私自身、鳥を求めて野山・畑・河川敷などに行く機会が多いですので、服装には気を付けたいと思います。

余談ですが、最近、ゴルフをするときにアーム・カバーをするようにしています。日焼け止めのつもりですが、林に打ち込んだときにツツガムシを避けるのに有用かも知れませんね。それとも、ゴルフ場はセーフなんでしょうか。

眼科医先生！いつもコメントありがとう！ツツガムシ病は地域性と言いますか、特定の土地に集中して発生する傾向があるようです。したがって、過去にあるいは最近患者さんが発生した地域や場所は要注意！私が知る限りではゴルフ場に発生した記録はないようです。しかし、用心に越したことはありませんネ。
