鈴木文部科学副大臣

横浜で開催された金曜日のバイオジャパンに出席しました。

サプライズ企画として「新政権の生命科学・バイオ産業政策を問う」というパネルに出たのですが、メインゲストは、民主党の参議院議員で、文部科学省の鈴木寛副大臣です。

鈴木副大臣は、経済産業省出身で、以前から科学技術政策に精通しており、民主党きってのバイオに関する論客として政権交代前から有名です。

また、大阪大学発のバイオベンチャー創晶の経営にかかわるなどベンチャー振興にも、精通しています。

パネルで色々お話をききましたが、省庁の壁を超えて、政治主導でバイオ振興を行うことや大学での研究振興など力強いお話が聞けました。

私からは、政府全体での成長戦略がみえないことや総合科学会議の在り方などの問題点を指摘させていただきました。

副大臣からは、厚労省の審査など従来自民党政権では改革がおよぼなかった部分に政治主導で取り組むなどのお答えを頂き、今後に期待したいと思っています。

実は、管国家戦略担当大臣は、大学発バイオベンチャー協会の顧問でもあり、弁理士出身という知財にも理解ある方で、バイオベンチャー振興の要望なども伝えさせていただいております。

まだ、政権発足まもなくで、予算の組み替えに忙しい状況で、すぐに成果を期待するのは酷ですが、従来の枠を超えた変革を期待したいものです。
