GEN0101のホルモン抵抗性前立腺がんに対する治療効果を確認

GEN0101と聞きなれない名前の抗がん剤です。実は、ＨＶＪ-Eのことです。

今まで、ＨＶＪは、膜を利用したベクターと抗がん剤のＨＶＪ－Ｅとややこしかったですが、今回はジェノメディアの開発コードでの紹介です。

前立腺がんに対する素晴らしい効果が第67回日本癌学会学術総会で発表します。

大阪大学大学院医学系研究科の金田安史教授の研究グループが、10月28日名古屋市で発表いたします。

がん研究では、ヒトのがん細胞に対する効果が大事なんですが、今回の研究は、ヒトのホルモン抵抗性前立腺がん細胞をマウスへ移植したがん動物モデルに対して、GEN0101を投与して治療を行っています。

そうすると、前立腺がんが縮小すること、そして個体によってはがんそのものが消失することが明らかとなりました。

実は、がんが消失することは、すごいことなんですね。私たちも、がんの実験をしていますが、ここまでの効果のある薬はまずありません。

GEN0101は、がん免疫を活性化する上に、前立腺がん細胞に対して直接作用して殺傷効果を示すことがわかりました。

特に、前立腺がんの中でもホルモン抵抗性の前立腺がんに対しては、GEN0101の作用がより強くなることを示す結果も示されました。

これは、臨床的に大きな意味のあるデータです。 

前立腺がんは、初期の段階ではホルモン療法による治療が有効ですが、治療開始から数年経過するとホルモン抵抗性の前立腺がんへと移行することが知られています。

そのため、重症度の高いホルモン抵抗性前立腺がんに対しては、優れた治療薬の開発が切望されていますので、今回の結果は大変意味があります。
