NO合成酵素による血管新生

本日、また新しい特許が成立しました。

既に、アンジェスからプレス・リリースがでていますが、内皮型一酸化窒素（NO)合成酵素に血管新生作用を見つけ、治療剤として特許申請していたものが、欧州で成立しました。

HGFを始め、何種類かの血管新生物質の特許がアンジェスで成立していますが、さらにアンジェスの持つ特許網が固まりました。

NO合成酵素に関しては、副作用の可能性が低く、以前から注目されていましたが、私たちのグループがいち早く特許化に成功しました。

将来的には、HGFとNO合成酵素の遺伝子の２つを同じプラスミドに組入れたハイブリッド型コラテジェンも可能性が高いです。

以下に、プレスリリースを掲載します。

新たな遺伝子を対象とする、血管新生の医薬特許が成立（欧州）

－ eNOs (血管内皮型一酸化窒素合成酵素)遺伝子が対象 －

 

当社は、eNOs遺伝子による血管新生を対象とする医薬用途特許が欧州において成立し、特許公報(EP1391514B1）が発行されたことをお知らせします。

 

eNOs (endothelial nitric oxide synthase)は主に血管内皮細胞に存在し、血管拡張作用（降圧作用）、血小板凝集抑制作用などを有することが知られています。

本発明は、eNOs遺伝子を筋肉内に投与することにより、HGF遺伝子と同様な血管新生作用が発現することを新たに見出しました。血管新生作用によって治療効果が期待できる対象疾患には、例えば、床ずれ・皮膚潰瘍を含む創傷、炎症性疾患、重症四肢虚血、心筋梗塞・狭心症・心不全を含む虚血性心疾患、脳梗塞、糖尿病性ニューロパチー、脊柱管狭窄症などがあります。さらにはHGF遺伝子と併用し、一層強力な血管新生作用に基づく治療効果を目指すことも考えられます。

 

なお、本特許出願は、日本及び米国等でも出願しておりますが、欧州で最初に登録されました。

 

当社は、HGF遺伝子治療薬の開発プロジェクトと並行し、他の血管新生遺伝子を対象とする特許権利化も進めてまいります。
