ナグラザイムとムコ多糖症VI型

ナグラザイムが対象とするムコ多糖症Ⅵ型は、稀な難病です。私も専門ではないので、直接患者さんを見たことはありませんが、何とかしたくなりますね。

ムコ多糖症Ⅵ型は、マロトー・ラミー症候群(Maroteaux-Lamy Syndrome）とも呼ばれる常染色体劣性遺伝型の先天性代謝異常疾患で、国内で確認されている患者数は数名といわれています。

アリルサルファターゼ Bの欠損によりデルマタン硫酸やコンドロイチン硫酸が分解できずに体内に蓄積し、生後1年程度から関節の運動制限や骨変形が認められ、肝腫大・脾腫大、角膜混濁、聴力障害、心弁膜障害等の種々の症状を呈する進行性の疾患です。

従来の治療法としては骨髄移植がありますが、ドナー確保の問題や移植に伴うリスクのため、より安全で有効な治療法が求められていました。

ナグラザイムは、まさにこのような疾患のために開発され、既に欧米で患者さんの役に立っている素晴らしい薬です。

HGFも、早く患者さんの役に立てばと思います。
