ＮＦｋＢデコイ

変わった名前ですが、私たちが開発している新しいアトピー性皮膚炎の治療薬です。ＮＦｋＢというのは、転写因子で遺伝子をオンにする作用があります。炎症や感染、ストレスなどが起こると、このＮＦｋＢというスイッチが入ります。そうすると、炎症性サイトカインと呼ばれるインターロイキンやＴＮＦ－aなどの発現があがり、アトピーの皮膚症状が起きてきます。

一個一個の遺伝子を押さえるのは大変なので（たくさんありすぎますので）、まとめて押さえるにはどうしたらよいか？ということで考えたのが、デコイです。

デコイというのは、変わった名前だと思われる方も多いかと思います。実は、デパートの家具売り場に行くと、木彫りの鴨がおいてあると思いますが、あれをデコイといいます。

もともとは、カナダのモントリオールのあたりの鴨猟が発祥らしいのですが、鴨の木彫りを置いておくと仲間と思った鴨が寄ってくるので、それを鉄砲で撃って捕まえていたようです。デコイというのは、おとりという意味なんですね。

そこで、先ほどのスイッチをおとりを入れて機能をなくしてしまえということで、私がアメリカに居る頃に考えたのが、デコイです。デコイの入った軟膏を作れば、アトピーが治るのではということから始まり、弘前大学での臨床研究を経て、今度やっとフェーズＩＩに入ることになりました。

先日、全国の治験に参加する先生方を集めた研究会が行われました。ステロイドと同じくらい効果があって、ステロイドの副作用がない薬剤を目指していますので、是非ご協力をお願いします！
