「緊急」の意味

　病棟から「βさんのご家族が緊急で相談したいことがある」と呼び出しがかかりました。駆けつけると「来週の外泊で、病院を出る時刻を13時30分でお願いしていたのを、13時45分に変更したい」とのこと。
　どこが緊急なのか、と首をひねりそうになりましたがひねる前にわかりました。「自分の待ち時間を最小にしたい」ことがその人にとっての「緊急課題」だったんですね。日本語は難しい。五十年以上使っているのにワタシマダヨクワカリマセ〜ン。
