【話題】のろいパソコンは最適化で生き返る

パソコンを買って長い間使っていると、ハードディスクの容量にはまだまだ空きがあるのに、動作が遅いという現象が起きるようになります。ファイルの追加や削除の繰り返しによって、ハードディスク内のデータが、あちこちに散らかったまま保存されてしまうのが原因です。

そこで、オススメなのが「デフラグ」。散らかったデータを整理し、ハードディスクを「最適化」する作業のことです。

まずスタートメニューから、「プログラム」→「アクセサリ」→「システムツール」→「ディスクデフラグ」をクリックします。
そして「Ｃ：」をワンクリックで選択したら、「最適化」をクリックしてください。これでコンピューターが、勝手に作業を始めます。

終了まで、何もすることはありませんが、デフラグには、ひとつ難点があります。保存されたデータ容量によっては、作業終了までかなり時間がかかること。出勤前の慌ただしい時間に始めても、間違いなく途中で「停止」するハメになります。
終日、自宅で過ごす週末がオススメです。

時間を短縮できるコツはあります。それは「常駐プログラムを停止する」こと。スクリーンセーバーやウイルスチェックソフトなど、パソコンの起動中に常に作動しているソフトが、ハードディスクにアクセスすると、そのたびにデフラグが自動的に一時停止してしまうからです。
