「カクテルのように」
「悟り」という言葉が初めに使われたのはいつのことか誰も知りません。
それは、カクテルのようなミックスの世界でしょうか。
現実と空想、忘却とこだわり、あるいは、甘味と苦み。
それは全く新しい世界かもしれません。
その扉を開けてもう一つの空間へ入ると、
いったい何が起こるのでしょう。

87歳の彼女は言いました。
いろいろなことが人生にありました。
いろいろな人とも出会いました。
いろいろなことも趣味でやりました。
家族に尽くし、主人は先に亡くなりました。
そして、私はいま一人です。
一人でいることの楽しさを実感できるようになりました。
一人で買い物をすること。
自分のために食事を作ること。
そして、たくさんの自由時間。

彼女はまもなく、認知症と診断されました。
彼女の死は、些細な事故によるものでした。
人はなぜ「悟り」と「優しさ」にたどり着くと、
間もなく死んで行くのでしょうか。
人は悟りのない世界でしか、生きられないのでしょうか。。。
それとも、生まれたときにすでに、この現実の世がまさに、
「ドアの向こうの空間」なのでしょうか。。。

No one is sure when the word “Satori” was first used.
I wonder if it describes a mixed world like a cocktail…
I would say that it’s a whole new world;
“reality and illusion”,
“oblivion and persistence”,
or “sweets and bitters”.
What on earth happens
when we open the door and enter the other space？

A 87-year-old woman said,
“I experienced lots of things in my life.
I got to know many people in the past.
I enjoyed many kinds of things for pleasure.”
“I’ve devoted myself to my family.
And I’ve outlived my husband.
And then, now, I’m left alone.”
“I’ve come to realize pleasure in being alone.
Shopping for myself,
dining for myself,
and plenty of free time.”

It didn’t take her long to be diagnosed as dementia.
Her death was caused by a trivial accident.
I don’t know why people die
soon after they managed to work their ways
to “SATORI” and “a tender heart”.
Does it mean we can live
only in the world without “SATORI”.
Otherwise, this real world would be “the other side of the door”
at the very moment we are born?
