この論文でFeitsmaらは、394例の分類不能関節炎（UA）患者の抗CCP抗体、HLA-DR、PTPN22-C1858T多型を検討し、1年後のUAからの RA発症を予見するマーカーの検索を行った。
その結果、UAからRA発症は35％で認められた。抗CCP抗体陽性 ＵＡでは66%が発症した。抗CCP抗体陽性かつPTPN22-C1858T多型保持者では76％がRA発症した（ただしこのコンビネーションはP = 0.34。その他にROC解析や多変量解析も行われている。
抗CCP抗体価については、HLA-DR(+)抗CCP抗体(+)のUAでは、PTPN22-C1858T多型(+)のほうが(-)患者群よりも抗CCP抗体の抗体価が高値であった。
従って、診断学的には抗CCP抗体が測定できれば、PTPN22遺伝子多型のタイピングは診断的な価値を有さない（PTPN22遺伝子多型を有すると抗体価は高くなるが）

Nicola Bizzaro et al. Analytical and Diagnostic Characteristics of 11-s and 3rd-Generation Immunoenzymatic Methods for the Detection of Antibodies to Citrullinated Proteins. Clin Chem （イタリア）
第２世代、第３世代の抗CCP抗体を含め、抗シトルリン化ペプチド抗体アッセイキットは11種類（synthetic cyclic peptides、recombinant rat filaggrin、mutated human vimentin Epstein-Barr virus-derived peptides、IgG-derived peptides）が市販されている。 Bizzaroらはこの論文でこれらのキットの性能を比較している。その結果、個々のキットごとにintra-aasay, inter-aasayのヴァリエーションは大きかった（0.5%-19%、0.4% - 22%）。また、98.5%特異度で比較した場合、個々のキットによって感度は41-74％と大きくことなっていた。
synthetic cyclic CPを用いたキットが再現性がよいが、これもキットごとにプロトコールが異なる。結論として測定キットは注意深く選択する必要があると記している。
