待宵草とか月見草とか

月見草は本来、白い花が咲くとか。

でも待宵草や大待宵草を月見草と呼ぶとも。

で、こちらは待宵草？

 

 

 

こちらは大待宵草でしょうか。

 

 

同じ花じゃん！と言われそうですが、大きさがまるで違います。

大待宵草は待宵草の倍以上の花。

なんとなく待宵草の小ささが月見草のイメージに合っているような。

待宵草って一瞬何の花だったかなと思いました。
あ〜、月見草ですね。
思い出しました。小さい頃は
よく野原の花を見て遊んでいたのに
大人になってからあまり
見なくなっていました。
昔から知っている花なのに
こうしてアップで見ると
夜を待つ、夜空の月を見る、とても
チャーミングなネーミングですね！

テレビでリンネの花時計は１８時がオオマツヨイグサと言ってました。(たった今見たばかり) で、ネットで確認したところ、１８時は、Evening primrose月見草, moonflowerとなっていました。あ、どうでもよい雑学でした。シツレ。^^;

一枚目の写真を撮った場所、上手く表現できてませんが、薄暮の中、小さな黄色い花がぽっと浮かび上がるように咲いていて、夜空に浮かぶ月や星を思わせる光景でした。

英語でもmoonflowerと表現されるんですね。
