クボタショックとは何だったんだろうか？

・2005年6月29日，毎日新聞のスクープで，全国を震撼させたクボタショックとは何だったんでしょうか？誰に対して，何がショックだったのか？ちょっと考えてみました．

 

・クボタを始め石綿産業で働いている労働者（明日は，我が身かも）

・そのご家族：お父さん大丈夫？私も危ない？

・石綿工場周辺の住民

・日本中いたるところで石綿が使われているという「恐怖」→日本国民

・今後企業活動が規制されるであろう，また賠償問題がおこってくるであろう石綿関連産業

・行政（今までの不作為？，失政に対する批判，今後の対応の大変さ）

・医学会（無知，もしくは知っていたが社会に知らせていない等社会的責任）

・学者（同上）

・医師（誤診，制度の無理解→患者への不利益）

＊他にもショックを受けた人がいるでしょうが，問題は，本来ショックを受けるべき人・団体が「鈍感」なため，ショックを受けなかった（？）ということでしょう．

 ・私は，産業衛生学会は，「反省の弁」（正式には「石綿問題に関する本学会の見解について」）を理事長名で出し，かつその後学会として石綿問題に取り組んでいったことは高く評価されると思います．日本呼吸器学会や日本肺癌学会，日本内科学会が何かステートメントをだしたか私は，知りません．どなたかご存じの方は，教えてください．

・私は，以前も書きましたが，２５年前から，クボタショック以降報道されたような問題を知ってはおりました．しかし，ほとんどその事を社会に訴えてきませんでした．その反省として，このブログも書いているのですが．．．「知ったら，知らせる」この立場で行きたい．・・・この話を医学生さんにしたら，この言葉，結構印象に残ったようです．

 

・以下日記というか，雑記

このまえ，新大阪駅構内の食堂に入りました．ランチは結構種類があって，量も多く以前から「ええとこや」と思っておりました．外人さんも来るんでしょう，レジ横に次のような英語の表示がありましたが，なんか変．

We can't use the credit cards during the lunch time.

何が変か分かります？本来useではなく，acceptだと思うのですが，実はこれも正しいのですか？英語の得意なひと，教えてください．

英語に関して，もうひとつ．マイケル・ジャクソンの「Beat it」はわたしのお気に入りですが，beat itの訳が何かおわかりですか？恥ずかしながら，わたしは，「ぶっとましてまえ！」だと思っておりました．しかし，全然違うのですね．《ジーニアス英和大辞典》では，（米俗）急いで立ち去る［逃げる］とあります．全然ちがうやん． 

ところで，今持っている電子辞書のＳＲ－Ａ10001Ｍで"beaｔ it"をいれると，《リーダーズ・プラス》というやつで，「今夜はビート．イット」（Michael Jacksonの1983年のヒット曲」とでました．すごいぞマイケル！（しかし，この邦題訳分かりませんね．「今夜は逃げろ」か？）

阪神淡路大震災で、建物が崩壊したり、被害の有った建物を建て壊したりで数えきれない人がアスベスト被害を受けたと思われます。今後その地域の人の中皮腫の発生状況には注意しないと行けないと思います。

以前にも書いたかもしれませんが、震災のときに神戸にいた小生はほこりを撒き散らしながら倒壊した建物を解体する作業現場を見ながら、しばらくこのあたりは通らないでおこうと思い、周囲の人間には伝えましたがそれだけにとどまりました。

当時はネットも携帯もまだまだ発展途上でしたから、伝えるにも限界がありました。言い訳ですが。

しかしあの時多くの人がそういった現場で働き、生活し、全国から支援に来られた多くのボランティア、さらには神戸に元気を与えようと（あるいは物見遊山で）観光客もたくさん来ました。特に1年後にはルミナリエも開催されましたし。

自分自身も含めてぞっとします。たしかに何か方法はなかったものか、と改めて反省します。
