宮城谷昌光：華栄の丘

・今日も，これから当直なのに，既に睡魔に襲われています．∵昨日夜寝床で，宮城谷昌光の『華栄の丘』を遅くまで読んでしまったから．

・宮城谷作品との最初の出会いは，ＫＩＯＳＫから．何か電車の中で読む本がないかと探していて，たまたま『沈黙の王』を購入．面白いなと思ったけど，ちょっと違和感を覚えました．それは，物語の間に解説が入るから．でも，次の作品も機会があったら読んでも良いと思いました．次に読んだかどうだったか忘れましたが，『孟夏の太陽』がとても面白くファンになりました．で，長編が苦手な私も，結構この作者の長編を読みました．（ex.『孟嘗君』『晏子』）

・最近宮城谷作品から遠ざかっていたので，久々に読んでみようと３，４日前から読み出しました．『華栄の丘』は，中編なので，まあ，読み出すのに抵抗が少なかったです．（長編は，読み出すまでに力がいります）この作品，司馬遼太郎賞受賞だそうです．でも，司馬遼太郎賞って，何？ホントかウソか知りませんが，東野圭吾の書いた短編の中に，文学賞を茶化したのがあって，その中で，文学賞は３００位あると書いていましたが．．．Wikipediaで「文学賞の一覧」をみてみると，ホントいっぱいあります．（３００あるかどうか，数えてないけど）また，「文学賞」の中に，以下の様な記述もありました．

文学賞に対する批判

文学賞は受賞者に対して賞金が支払われるだけではなく、選考委員にも高額の選考料が支払われるため、作家達の体のいいアルバイトと言われることもある。選考委員という立場自体、文壇政治におけるポストのひとつと見なされており、特に芥川賞などは任期がなく、一度任命されれば辞任しない限りは亡くなるまでその地位に居続けることも可能で、これも批判の対象となることがある。

また、選考委員の好みや出版社の事情など、様々なバイアスにより授賞が必ずしも作品の出来に対する物ではない場合もある。直木賞はＳＦやミステリーは不利とされており、SF作家である筒井康隆は自らの直木賞落選の経緯を批判的に風刺し『大いなる助走』を執筆した。中原昌也『点滅』が芥川賞の候補になりながらも、1票も入らず落選した際、選考委員に対して雑誌連載で痛烈な批判をした。

 ・話が脱線しました．この本は，春秋時代（晋が三つに分かれていなかったから，そうですよね）の宋の宰相：華元の物語です．宋と言えば，「守株」（まちぼうけ）または「宋襄の仁」で，ちょっとネガティブなイメージでしょうか？この小説では，宋を「礼」の国として捉えて話を進めています．まあ，面白いのですが，最後の方で，楚に攻められ籠城して，滅亡寸前までいくという方針をとったのは，いかがなものか？為政者は，それでメンツを保っても，庶民はたまったものではないのにと思いましたが．．．まあ，読んでみてください．

・この文庫本の解説を和田宏という人が書いています．その中に次の様な一説があり，その通りと思います．（そして，危険だとも）

吉川英治の『宮本武蔵』や司馬遼太郎の『龍馬がゆく』を読んでしまうと，生涯そのイメージが残り，それに逆らう「事実」は信じたくなくなる．「事実はしばしば嘘をつく」とまでは思わなくても，「事実が邪魔になる」ことさえ出てくる．これが文学的真実の力というべきものであろう．

小説を読んで，それが歴史上の事実だと思い込まないように．．．
