ピクトさん

・先日灘波のブックオフで『ピクトさんの本』というのを買ったことを書きました。ピクトさんとは、何か？ピクトグラムからとった言葉だと思います。では、そもそもは、ピクトグラムpictogrmaとは、何か?ちょうど今、長女が２階から降りてきたので、「ピクトグラムって、知ってるか？」ときいたら、「絵の記号だよ」とあっさりと答えられました。さすが、デザイン学部。で、ちゃんとした説明は・・・私の持っている広辞苑第三版には載っておらず、OXFORD Advanced Learner's DICTIONARYA(NEW EDITION)にものっておらず・・・Wikipediaに

ピクトグラム（Pictogram、ピクトグラフPictographとも）は、一般に「絵文字」「絵単語」などと呼ばれ、何らかの情報や注意を示すために表示される視覚記号（サイン）の一つである。

と、あります。まあ、非常口のマークを思い出しましょう。

・ピクトさんとは、そのピクトグラムに登場する線形（数学ではない）の「人」です。最初に紹介した本は、その標識の面白いものを集めたものです。この本の中の標識と著者のコメントが面白い。著者は、「日本ピクトさん学会」会長」です。
