「亀島山地下工場を語り継ぐ会」

・亀島山とは、コンビナートで有名な倉敷市水島にある亀の形にはどうも見えない「山」です。昔は、亀の形をしていた島だったそうですが、埋め立てで山になり、開発で亀の形が削りとられたて、原型をとどめておりません。その地下に、約２kmの隧道があります。これは、第2次世界大戦末期、三菱重工業(株)水島航空機製作所の疎開工場として作られたものです。本日それを「戦争遺跡」として残そうとう会の再建総会がおこなわれ、参加してきました。最初1988年に会ができて、パンフレットや記念碑まで作ったそうですが、10年以上休業していたそうです。今回、この隧道が「危険地下壕」として封鎖・埋め戻しになるかもしれないということがきっかけで、仕切りなおしとなったわけです。

・最初経過報告、規則や役員、活動方針、予算等の議論があり、高校生の詩の朗読（詩集『亀島山地下工場』沖永ルミ子）をはさんで、、山梨学院大学の十菱駿武教授の記念講演「戦争遺跡・地下壕調査研究の現状と課題」がおこなわれました。十菱教授は考古学の教授であり、戦争遺跡の調査の話をきいていると、考古学みたいと思いました。参加は80名くらいでした。私は、水島の病院で初期研修を受けましたが、患者さんに韓国・朝鮮人の人が多くいました。その方々が置かれていた状況は、決してよくない。（今ではなくなりましたが、じめじめした畳で床が抜けそうなバラック小屋の部落を思い出します。）この亀島山の地下工場を作るために韓国・朝鮮人の方々が徴用、強制連行されたとききます。わたしは、この実態を知りたくて今回参加しました。まだ、一度も工場内に入っていないので、一度は入ってみたいと思います。（できれば、娘たちをつれて）実物をみるのと、話だけきいて想像するのとでは、インパクトが全然違うと思います。こういう活動を通じて戦争の実態を、若い世代にも広げて行きたいと思います。
