人は必ず亡くなる．でも，それを受け入れるには時間がいります．

・以前ＮＩＰＰＶである患者さんの病状が改善したことを書きました．その患者さんが本日亡くなり，つい今しがたお見送りしました．お家の方（奥さん，子供さん）には，病状はご説明し，「納得」はしていただいておりました．ＮＩＰＰＶ以上＝気管内挿管，気管切開は，しないということにしておりました．（ご本人は，ＮＩＰＰＶにも難色を示されておりました．）ご家族も近々亡くなることは分かっておられたのでしょうが，本日号泣されておられました．奥さんが泣きながら「ありがとうございました」と言われましたが，かける言葉がありませんでした．人はいつかはなくなる．そのことが分かっていても，実際に受け入れるには時間がかかるのですね．医師生活約２５年，何１００人もお見送りして，いまだ，こういう感慨にふけるとは．．．

・また，今朝，以前勤めていた総合病院／臨床研修指定病院の朝礼報をみていると，私が以前診ていたＮＩＰＰＶをされている患者さんが，在宅で死亡という記載をみました．機械に「たっちゃん」と名前を付けた患者さんです．奥さんが訪室し，心肺停止の所を見つけられたそうです．突然のことで，奥さんはなかなか死を受け入れられないでしょうね．この患者さんは，１０年以上前に挿管，気管切開，人工呼吸を繰り返していたのを，ＮＩＰＰＶ導入で落ちついていた方．確か８４歳．いずれは，お亡くなりになると思っていましたが．．．

・人は，いずれかは死ぬ．自分に言い聞かせ，最近は患者さんや家族にもそういう類の話をしています．毎年新年には，遺書をかかないといけないと思いながらそれができていません．しかし，今年は，「遺書を書きましょう運動」をはじめるつもりです．
