久しぶりに、BBCより。 患者の医師に対する暴力の多さがまた報告されています。
Doctors 'face assaults epidemic' Thursday, 10 January 2008, 00:44 GMT: BBC24
One in three doctors were assaulted, either physically or verbally, in the last year, research suggests - but most did not report it. One in ten of the 591 doctors who responded to a British Medical Association said they had been physically attacked. Of these, 5% were seriously injured, and a third suffered minor injuries. However, the BMA said many did not report the incidents - suggesting an increasing acceptance of violence. ------------

医療だけを見て英国の’医療現場’は暴力が多いと即断するのは、BBCの日常のニュースよりAnti-social behaviorやナイフや銃を使った犯罪の多さ（統計的に比較・評価した訳ではありませんが…）を推測すると社会全体として暴力の蔓延を見ている可能性もあり、早計かもしれませんが、それにしても多い（数もかかるコストも）。
日本でも医療者に対する暴力が多く報告されている。
医療の根本には、医師患者間の信頼が横たわっているのですが、最近の言説では”信頼を損なう文脈”として医師・医療関係者の診療の内容・質や対応のまずさのみに注目しすぎ、一方的だと感じることがある。だって、医師も患者をおおいに信頼して、使い方によっては害になる薬ー例えば、麻薬や今話題の犯罪に関わるようような抗精神病薬を症状の軽減や病状の回復を意図して”正しく使ってくれると信頼して”処方する訳だし、話し（病歴など）をよく聴く為に、なかば丸腰になって対応してる訳（そうじゃなきゃホントのこと、話したくないですよね）だし、そこにつけ込んで濫用や暴力が増加するのならば、患者が一方的な依頼者・弱者とは言い切れず、医師・医療者の患者に対する信頼の低下も当然の結果、様々な医療問題の底に流れることになっているのだ。
互いの信頼を失った先にあるのは、疑いか哀しみか無気力・無関心か。あー、なんだか信頼について自ら語り始めることほどうさんくさいものはないですね。
